Recent Passing

We are sad to announce the passing of 24 year member John Faber BK# 1228025. He died Saturday April 18, 2020 on the job, working for Schuff Steel on Amazon/Project Sol. His brother Ted Faber is handling the arrangements to have brother Faber sent back home to Pittsburgh. Further arrangements are pending. John held office as Sergeant of Arms and was a Trustee for local 75. He was also an Instructor for Local 75’s Apprenticeship. His conversations and personality will be missed. Local 75 lost a great loyal dedicated union man.

Recent Passing

Lifetime member Johnny J. Johnson, Book # 1179193 passed away 1/22/2020 He resided here in Phoenix and is also well know by our retired members in Phoenix etc., he was a member for 56 yrs, he initiated in 416, a year later he transferred into 75. Brother Johnson will be cremated, there will be a Celebration of Life, but the family has chosen to have a Private Immediate Family Dinner. A Floral Center Piece has been ordered on behalf of Local 75 for the families private dinner.

Lifetime member Samuel Kavathas, Book # 591400 passed away 1/16/2020 He resided in Tucson and is well known by all of our mid age and retired members there. He was a loyal and dedicated member of LU 75 for 63 years. He will be dearly missed.

Apprenticeship competition rescheduled

The apprenticeship competition has been rescheduled to February 8, 2014 (due to a scheduling conflict).

It will be held at 330. E. Maricopa Fwy. Phoenix, AZ 85004.

Events: Rebar tying, level and transit skills, column climb, written exam and knots (participants must be current on dues).

The top two winners will compete in Fresno, CA on April 17-18, 2014 against two apprentices from each local within the District Council.

The top six of this competition will compete in the national competition held in Toronto, Canada on Sept. 25-28, 2014.

Wages and expenses will  be reimbursed for this national competition.
