Qualified rigger/signalman criteria – ongoing

Per International and District Council, Ironworkers who wish to carry a Qualified Rigger/Signalman card will be required to have attended 40 hours apprenticeship Rigging class, 40 hours apprenticeship Cranes/Structural II class, as well as attend the 16-hour Qualified Rigger course. All the above classes are offered through the apprenticeship. A “hybrid” home-study course is currently being developed, and will be offered when its structure is finalized and approved. All Qualified Riggers must have 700 hours rigging experience to meet the Qualified Rigger/Signalman criteria as well.
